ODA Licenses Adobe PDF Library to Enhance PDF Support in the ODA Platform
The Open Design Alliance (ODA) today announced it has licensed the Adobe PDF Library software development kit (SDK) from Adobe Systems Incorporated for integration with the ODA platform.
Integration with the Adobe PDF Library SDK gives the ODA platform immediate access to a powerful set of tools to support rendering of DWG 2010 PDF underlays and provides the ability to easily expand PDF support in the future. Previous releases of the ODA platform included in-house support for exporting to the widely used format, and this new agreement will streamline and improve this functionality.
Arnold van der Weide, ODA President, stated, “This is a logical extension to the ODA’s new component strategy. Interfacing with the Adobe PDF technology will not only reduce ODA maintenance and development efforts while improving quality, but it will also allow us to embark on new development.”
John Knightly, vice president of enterprise marketing, Adobe, added, “We are pleased the ODA has chosen Adobe’s powerful PDF Library to provide support for the format within the ODA platform. Providing ODA members with the collaborative capabilities of PDF will add tremendous value to their platforms.”
